Kim’s Chocolates’ new state-of-the-art facility opened in 2008. As well as investing in the latest processing technologies, the company has created an environmentally-friendly plant where everything from electricity supply to waste water disposal is made as ‘green’ as possible.

Kim’s Chocolates runs a school project called ‘Cocoa for schools’ in Kyela, district of Mbeya region of Tanzania, East Africa. From 2010, the initiative has supplied textbooks, built classrooms and school benches. Kim's Chocolates believes that by investing in education and formation of the farmers great changes can be made in following years.

The programme has also donated beds for dormitories to provide a safe environment for young girls and minimize the risk of unwanted pregnancies. Kim’s Chocolates has also built facilities within schools to provide better hygienic conditions for children and reduce the chance of an outbreak of infectious diseases.
