VDL Groep, with its head office in Eindhoven (The Netherlands), is an international industrial company focused on the development, production and sales of semi-manufactured products, buses & coaches and finished products and the assembly of cars.

Since the founding in 1953 this family-owned company has grown to include 87 operating companies, spread over 19 countries with approximately 10,500 employees. The strength of VDL Groep lies in the mutual cooperation between the companies.

Throughout the VDL Nedcar organization, quality comes first. This starts with the way in which every employee has the right to reject anything which does not meet the quality standards, and ends when the car, having passed through a variety of manufacturing systems and processes, receives 'Green OK' status and is allowed to leave the factory.

Using a checklist of key performance indicators, no less than 400 items are inspected on every car. In addition, extra safety inspections are carried out and the operation of various systems, such as the driveline and the brakes, are subjected to additional testing. Lastly, every car is carefully checked for leakage.

This attention to quality is also evident in our internal systems and procedures. Our buyers, for example, make sure that the quality standards of our suppliers are just as high as our own standards.

As a result of VDL Nedcar's quality and environmental management systems, the company has been awarded ISO 9001 and 14001 certification.
