Tsujitoku Kaishi
Kaishi can add elegance and grace to our daily lives. Tsujitoku Kaishi has been founded with the idea of including this traditional Japanese product to add an element of elegance to our daily lives.

In developing our new styles of Kaishi we have used traditional design as well as incorporating modern designs into the paper to set the stage for something special on our tables, in our greetings to guests and in our own lives.

What is kaishi?
Kaishi Paper is made from the finest natural fibers available and has been used in Japan for more than 1000 years.
Its absorbency and thickness make it well suited for many uses such as writing special memos, as an elegant disposable handkerchief or as an absorbent tissue.

Until about 100 years ago it could be found in many functions of daily life in Japan, but in modern times the advent of very specialized papers for copying, multiple communications and personal hygiene have replaced many of the wider uses of Kaishi. We now see it primarily used as kind of napkin for very fine sweets served during the practice of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony known as Sado.
