TMC Australia Transformers Manufacturing Company Pty Ltd - the original TMC - was established in Melbourne, Australia in 1936 as a manufacturer of oil cooled and dry type transformers by Francesco Nicoletti an Italian engineer who had emigrated to Australia.

In 1968, having recently graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Melbourne, Carlo Vaccari acquired TMC from his uncle Francesco Nicoletti. His leadership and high level of engineering input together with a philosophy on excellence has led to TMC to being recognised worldwide as one of the leading designers and manufacturers of static induction equipment.

Following rapid technological developments in the field of epoxy resins during the 1980s, TMC began specializing in vacuum cast epoxy resin transformers. Over the past three decades TMC has evolved as a top tier supplier to both domestic and international markets with products that enjoy a reputation for quality and reliability.

In 2000 TMC Australia licensed its brand in the establishment of a European based manufacturer to facilitate a direct channel to a wider international market as well as to gain access to raw material suppliers and other industry developments.
