The St Francis Group was founded in 1991 by John Hodgkin (BVM&S MRCVS), then a practising veterinary surgeon, with the aim of using the joint purchasing volume of individual practices to improve manufacturer discounts.

Our approach has always been to offer unobtrusive support, providing members with valuable information and excellent terms across a wide range of suppliers, and giving practices the freedom to select the products and services that best suit their business needs. Using our own bespoke IT system, we also support members with monthly reports and information to help maximise purchasing benefits and reduce administration.

Over the years we have steadily grown our member base and portfolio of offers and services while retaining our guiding principle of supporting independent veterinary practices.

Since April 2010, John has been joined by Nick Park (BVetMed MRCVS), a practising veterinary surgeon and Alan White, an experienced procurement specialist. The combined experience of John, Alan and Nick and our longstanding relationships with manufacturers and suppliers ensure that St Francis Group members continue to enjoy the savings and supportive service that have been our focus since 1991.
