Statfold Seed Oil was established in 1996 and started out as a small cottage industry, producing high-quality flax, borage. hemp and evening primrose oils. Thanks to an early decision to gain the UK Soil Association's organic standard, we soon became a producer and supplier of organic oils to the food and cosmetics markets.

Our next move was to invest in a bottle-filling and labelling line. We added more seed and fruit oils to our product list, along with a wide range of globally sourced ingredients used in the personal care industries, and developed our unique small-run refining and deodorising process.

In 2011, with the organic and natural industry booming and the experience we'd gained supplying, producing and sourcing many of the ingredients used in cosmetic formulation, we decided to enter into contract manufacturing. We updated our premises to meet the high standards required for health and beauty manufacturing, which included building a fully operational laboratory. Today. we offer a full contract development service combined with a full regulative service.

Oil Blends

If your formulations require more than one oil we are able to offer tailor made blends. We can either blend to your existing formulation or vie can develop bespoke blends ready to add straight into your formulation. This can help reduce the cost of associated purchasing the MOO of numerous oils. It can also help reduce stocks of inventory and SKUs

Mediterranean Omega 9 Blend - Our Mediterranean Omega 9 inspired blend provides our richest source of Omega 9(OLeic Acid) This rich & nourishing oil with its non-greasy skin feel and optimized content of Omega 9 (Oleic Acid) is an ideal addition to any skin care range devoted to the treatment of dry, ageing skin and hair care. This oils is produced in house using Almond, Olive, Argon & Prickly Oils.

Men's Omega 9 Blend - The spicy golden blend provides a rich source of Omega g (Oleic Acid) and 6 (Linoleic Acid) along with a spicy masculine aroma makes it an ideal addition for natural skin care specifically those targeted at men. Blending 4 nutritious oils this rich oil is produced in-house using the seeds from Black seed, Camelina, Perilla and Grapeseed oil.

Our contract development service

We readily invite clients to visit our site to help them understand our contract manufacturing process, and to see our manufacturing plant and fitting capabilities. You'll meet our dedicated and experienced team. who want you to feel confident that you've chosen the right manufacturer for your products. We produce many ingredients on site, including our high-quality, cold-pressed seed and fruit oils, so you'll see the impressive range we have to offer. All these, as well as our vast range of globally sourced ingredients, can be incorporated in formulations, using the expert knowledge of our technical team.

As an alternative to the full development service, we offer versatile, ready-made formulations and mixing options for a quicker route to market. All our projects are undertaken in the strictest confidence and are fully supported from inception through to manufacturing.

Time from concept to brand

Once we your agreed product brief and brand, we move on to the development and sampling stage. Although this usually takes between 6 and 8 weeks, new product development can sometimes take longer as the formulations often need tweaking before they're absolutely right. Once a formulation is accepted and signed off, we begin the relevant testing required by current cosmetic regulations - this can take between 12 to 14 weeks to complete from date of sign off. When a product has passed all the testing, we move on to compiling the regulative files, which takes around 2 to 3 weeks. We also offer to register your products on the Cosmetics Product Notification Portal.
