Romer Labs® Inc. was founded in 1982 by Tom and Marie Romer in Washington, MO as a testing service for mycotoxins. Five years later Romer Labs® Inc. moved to it's current location in Union, MO. In 1995, Romer Labs® Inc. developed the first test kit, the FluoroQuant®. Four years later in 1999, the Erber AG (the Austrian holding company) acquired Romer Labs® Inc. and Tom Romer retired.

Romer Labs acquired the SDIX Food Safety and GMO Business. The acquisition reinforces the company's commitment to be a complete supplier of food safety solutions and accelerates our move into food pathogen detection.
