Ramsay and Jackson Ltd was founded in the early 1940’s and was primarily involved in threshing contracting using steam traction engines. The sales and service side of the business soon evolved with the three Ramsay brothers Neil, Billy and Robin becoming partners along with their mother Isabella Jackson and step father James Jackson.

The contracting side of the business continued until the 1970’s when the last combine harvester was sold off to allow more time to be spent on the growing machinery sales and service business.
