As the ball glides and rolls over the web, it absorbs the applied web oil in its shell. No Gutter, unlike other cleaners, attacks the oil directly and dissolves it. The advantage here is that chemically speaking it is not a so- called "tractor cleaner". Tractor cleaners are mixtures of substances which only rearrange the oil molecules and their high volatility ensures that the oil molecules are carried away, i.e. "dragged away". Therefore, these cleaners only clean the surface. Deep cleaning does not take place. Unlike many of these types of cleaners, No Gutter penetrates the upper regions of the shell and dissolves the oil.

An important component of reactive balls are the plasticizers in the shell. In addition to the material composition and the "grain", they are mainly responsible for the grip of the ball on the track. If these evaporate, the shell gradually hardens and loses its effect accordingly. This is especially the case with tractor cleaners. These do not distinguish between oil molecules and plasticizer molecules.

No Gutter is designed to leave the plasticizers where they should stay during the cleaning process: In a bowl.
From a physical point of view, the shells of reactive balls have a so-called contraction radius, unlike polyester balls, for example. This is created at the contact point of the ball with the track. The shell of the ball is slightly "pressed in" here. The chemical deep cleaning and the dissolution of the oil molecules creates more space between the pores of the shell and the contraction effect of the shell is largely restored.

This way your ball always has the same contraction radius as a new ball.
