Offset - Graduate Collection 2017

Tactile knitted designs inspired by the connection between the visual identities of sport and where sport is performed. Looking to sports architecture such as Zaha Hadid's London olympic aquatics centre and the 1992 Barcelona Olympic stadiums.

The knitted designs explore the continuity of lines through offset patterns and relief work. Building up the lines using bonding techniques with ribbed knitwear and creating knitted channels filled with foam to create high-tech, padded and reversible sport-specific fabrics.

Specifically taking into consideration the element of stretch and supportive padding, this is a quality I observed in deconstructing an old pair of trainers and a factor I integrated in my design. Re-imagining the use of a foam material and combining it with knit technology to create modern fabrics. This collection is designed for trainers and sports apparel.

My design 'Rush' was one of the shortlisted designs. This design was inspired by kinetic sculptures and focused on the details of moving shadows and line.
