Roy Dixons Casings 1970
As with all good stories this one starts with sausages, well sausage skins to be exact. Former Manchester City goalkeeper Roy transferred his skilled hands from footballs to butchers blocks, and began selling sausage skins to local butchers from the Dixon family kitchen.

The business grew steadily but the real eureka moment came in 1976 when, under increasing pressure from the struggling butchery trade, Roy & his son Gary began mixing humble seasoning blends in a friends Kenwood Chef mixer. The result was a knockout tasty Chinese glaze that could help butchers add real value to their meat offering.

MRC The Flava People 80’s & 90’s
The seasonings and glaze range quickly expanded, gaining real recognition in the trade as the Dixons began shipping to butchers all over the UK. At the same time, the company was attracting real attention from other sectors in the food trade so Gary and Roy began assembling a skilled team to help take the food business to the next level.

Today we work with partners in the butchery, retail, industrial & restaurant sector with both branded and bespoke products, crafting everything from sauces and seasonings to crumbs and coaters. That said, we’re still very much a family business and our mission remains the same as it was over 40 years ago…. adding a little flava to the everyday.
