POWERING THE MIDLANDS ENGINE FOR GROWTH

The Midlands has the potential to deliver so much more. The challenge is to build on regional successes, become more efficient, attract more investment and power a real engine for growth in the region that will deliver a strong, sustainable and high-value economy long in to the future.

Through the Midlands Engine for Growth, the Government aims to raise the longterm growth rate of the region, create hundreds of thousands of new jobs and add £34 billion to its economy by 2030.

Universities play a critical role in this Engine for Growth - developing essential skills, stimulating ideas through research and innovation, and helping translate this into new technologies and products.

Midlands Innovation is a partnership that will help drive this vision. Working collaboratively with regional, national and international partners, we will play a pioneering role in growing the Midlands further as a high-skilled, hightech, globally-focused economy and improving the quality of life for communities throughout the region.
