Lain derelict for many years, crumbling walls and overgrown grounds have now given way to an on-going sympathetic restoration, breathing new life into the on-site facilities for both club and venue.
Work began on the redevelopment of the Shelsley Walsh Courtyard in 2006, to convert the North and South Barns into new facilities and restore the water mill.
The Water Mill is the most significant building, having been part of Worcestershire's Teme Valley farming community since 1308. Now restored, it is fully operational once more, driving demonstration antique farm machinery in the adjacent buildings and open to visitors at key events throughout the year.
A focal point is The Courtyard with its picnic lawn and seating onto permanent kitchen offering new opportunities for hospitality and hire. A toilet block with shower facilities was also added.
Part of the North barns were converted into a Mess room for our loyal band of marshals and in 2009, the club archive was transferred to Shelsey Walsh and is housed in a museum grade atmospherically stable environment for the club's precious photos and printed memorabilia dating back to 1901.
In 2012 the MAC office was relocated into the converted North Barns for the club's full time staff along with a meeting room to which semi-permanent structures can be erected for events to increase the capacity of the restaurant.
The South Barns were converted into an 80 seater restaurant with a develop and plan future events. And in 2013 Sir Stirling Moss officially opened The Courtyard Bar themed with Shelsley Walsh motorsport memorabilia.
Fundraising still continues to restore and conserve Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb.
