THE TANNING
The tanning of the hides is done by a traditional pit tannery in the south of Germany. Only natural extracts are used, like valonea oak and chestnut wood, mimosa bark and quebracho wood. Vegetable tanning takes three months and is the most environmentally friendly way to make genuine, valuable leather.

THE ANIMALS
The origin of every leather is an animal. Our leather comes from cattle from the south of Germany. The cows had a good life on organic farms. For the collection of the raw hides we cooperate with a small and local slaughterhouse close to the farmers, where the whole process is slowed down and strictly controlled by veterinarians.

THE MANUFACTORY
Our products are handmade in a family-run manufactory in Central Germany. All additional materials are selected in order to meet the highest standards of ecology, quality and longevity.

THE LEATHER
Scratches and wrinkles are part of life and tell a story. Like our human skin, leather will change its appearance and feel over time, most notably with the colour nude. There is basically no need to buy additional care items for our leather products. If you like, you can polish them with natural wax and a white cloth. Once wet, the product shall not dry too quickly.
