HELIN GmbH (Hagener Elektrizitäts-Industrie GmbH) was founded on 9.10.1923 in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia. One of the founders was Mr Karl August Schmacke, whose descendants are still active in the 4th generation as shareholders and managers of the HELIN Group today. Since its foundation, HELIN has been dealing with electrical and electrotechnical products as well as related services such as installation and commissioning.

At its inception the company mainly focused on the production of electric motors. In the thirties of the last century, production shifted to stationary and mobile siren systems. With the beginning of the Cold War in the early fifties, the ability to warn the population through systems such as sirens became increasingly important. Around this time, HELIN developed its legendary E57 motor siren which was also used beyond the borders of Germany.

To this day, this quality product by HELIN is still widely in service. However, the number of E57 sirens still in use is steadily shrinking in line the increasing demands placed on sirens in the electronic age. What?s more, the supply with spare parts can no longer be guaranteed. In addition to the maintenance and upgrading of existing sirens, HELIN has also been developing new warning systems for cities, communities and industry.

For instance, the use of cutting-edge networking technology for the purpose of warning the population is only one among many other potential solutions explored by HELIN's highly skilled engineers. We are currently developing and distributing state-of-the-art warning systems in concert with our partners, whereby the electronic siren is at the heart of these new technologies.

For decades HELIN has been addressing formidable technical challenges, whereby it has remained focused on the quality of its products as well as on building a collaborative and reliable relationship with its customers. The highest quality of our services as well as satisfaction of our many long-term customers is based on the identification of our employees with their company. For years now HELIN has been successfully promoting its objectives in this respect by implementing continuous professional training as well as compliance with the strictest health and safety measures. Its occupational safety has been documented by the local trade association through the "AMS certification".

Since the beginning of 2015, HELIN also has a branch office in Pfarrkirchen (Bavaria) in addition to its headquarters in Hagen, enabling it to respond more efficiently to the needs of customers and to provide personal assistance.
