Team GRAPHISOFT focused on Urban Planning & Construction and demonstrated that the technology to provide various benefits to those who interact with any area of a city is already available utilizing BIMx. The competition work was based on various input data formats that were provided to the participants beforehand: a 3D model of the Dublin Docklands Strategic Development Zone in .fbx and .max file formats and specific building models in IFC.

Team GRAPHISOFT successfully hacked the data and brought everything together in ARCHICAD’s masterplan model, embedding regulatory information and links to external data sources that are publicly available, such as social, environmental and facilities information, local event websites, etc.

The ARCHICAD model was then exported to a BIMx file that could be accessed by anyone from a mobile device. The team included Jaime Ingram from NetZero Buildings; Stuart Clark from Constructive Thinking Studio Ltd.; Shane Brodie and Ed Burke from BIM & Scan Ltd.; Bernard Voortman from Cummins & Voortman Ltd.; and Rob Kalocay and Tamás Eros from GRAPHISOFT.
