It all started in 1987 when Gary, a sales agent for 10 years, realized he had the expertise and knowledge to start his own business. He recognized the need for quality Canadian souvenirs and believed with the support of key customers he could launch a successful business. It took 5 years for the business to officially take off when Gary Gurmukh Sales Ltd. became the first licensee for Canada 125. It was also a celebratory year for all Canadians because the Blue Jays won the World Series! For GGS it was a home run because Gary was able to use his background in the sports souvenir industry to his advantage by securing the Blue Jays World Series license.

From that pivotal year, GGS was able to secure licenses for the Calgary Stampede, RCMP, Canada 150 and Per-Design. A company that started in a basement with only a handful of loyal customers grew to a large office and accompanying warehouse with hundreds of customers in just over 10 years. During this time the company impressed customers from coast to coast, like the CN Tower to the Capilano Suspension Bridge with their exciting designs and vast product range.

The same entrepreneurial spirit remains at the heart of the company with the new owner, Askari, while Gary is enjoying a happy retired lifestyle. Consistent achievements in the North American souvenir and resort industry have pushed the company to look into different markets and ventures. One such addition to the business has been the exploding micro-brewery and university market.

The high demand for GGS products are met by a strong team who run the office and factory in Toronto. The in-house design and sales team work with customers on their specific programs which are fulfilled by a skillful team of screen-printers, master embroiders and printers.

From trade shows throughout the year to in-person store visits, GGS is constantly exploring ways to give retailers better access to the brand, all the while retaining its passion for delivering awesome products and a complete service experience.
