Flanders Classics is an umbrella organization for classic cycle races held in Flanders. Founded in 2010, Flanders Classics is the owner of the prestigeous Tour of Flanders and of the opening race Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, it is also involved at different levels in the following races: Dwars door Vlaanderen, Gent-Wevelgem, de Scheldeprijs and the Brabant Arrow. De Proximus Cycling Challenge is gaining popularity every year and celebrates its third edition this year. With the slogan 'take up the challenge and ride the classics for yourself' we're not only their for the pro's, but for the cycling lovers as well.

The mission of Flanders Classics is to ensure the position of the Flemish Classics in the international cycling calendar. By doing this the organization tries to give a better chance to the smaller Flemish races. The cooperation has already achieved a better date for three of the races. Gent-Wevelgem is now held on the Sunday between Milan - San Remo and the Ronde van Vlaanderen, the Grote Scheldeprijs occurs between the Ronde and Paris-Roubaix and the Brabantse Pijl takes place before the Ardennes classics, consisting of the Amstel Gold Race, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
