His curiosity, imagination and thirst for knowledge would later drive him to take his first big career step: in 1953, as an enthusiastic 22-year old researcher, Helmut Fischer opens his first business in his hometown of Stuttgart. Quickly recognizing the needs of a burgeoning industrial sector to measure things, he devotes this enterprise to the development and optimization of ultra-sensitive measurement instruments.

Today, FISCHER's innovative measurement technology is used worldwide. The company owes its technological leadership to a strong emphasis on research and development: 20 percent of the production plant workforce are employed in this area.
