We are a multi-disciplinary team working in partnership with farmers and food companies for climate and food security.
Since 2001 FAI have farmed and operated 1650 acres (668ha) of Oxford University farmland located in Wytham, Oxfordshire. The farm runs c. 1200 acres of primarily grazing and forage making land, supporting a 900 ewe sheep flock, 80 head suckler herd, and 2,400 free range laying hens. The farm also boasts a range of indoor and field-based trial facilities that offer bespoke research opportunities for cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry for hatchery, breeding and rearing.
The FAI Animal Health Centre is a dedicated, state-of-the-art facility providing accommodation and handling equipment for up to 30 cattle and 60 sheep/pigs (12 individual pens). On-site office and laboratory facilities offer a range of sample preparation and handling techniques while our on-site animal health and quality systems staff ensure the trials are run to the highest standards and that the animals receive the best care.
