Drywite Limited evolved from the Pioneer Potato Company Ltd, which was incorporated by Harold G Lee on 20th July 1933 when his fourteen year old son Malcolm had the inspired idea of selling ready peeled potatoes in his local neighbourhood.
To overcome the problem of his peeled potatoes discolouring when kept out of water, Malcolm formulated his own preservative, which caused such interest among local fish friers that he soon gave up his peeled potato business to concentrate on the production of his preservative, which was patented and named "Drywite" because potatoes stayed "dry" and "white".
The company's name was changed to Drywite Ltd in 1935 and since then it has continued to manufacture various formulations of Drywite Potato Preparation together with a complete range of essential products for Fish Frying and General Food Industries.
Today Drywite Products will be found in almost every Fish and Chip Shop as well as being used by General Caterers, Vegetable and Fruit Processing Companies, the NHS, the Prison Service, School Kitchens and many other major Food Related Organisations throughout the World.
