Cryogenetics is the leading provider of technology and services to the aquaculture industry, including the field of genetic preservation and reproduction efficiency. Our clients include the largest producers of Atlantic salmon in the world.
Cryogenetics is the sole provider of unique technology developed in-house. Cryogenetics' technology has both the capacity and efficiency needed for seamless integration of an unique cryopreservation technology on an industrial scale for conservation or breeding operations. This is a result of a focused R&D, applied to these challenges, for over a decade.
Innovation and Research
Our main research facilities are situated at the head office in Hamar, Norway, and this is also where most of the research is carried out. The head office just moved into the recently restored former condensed milk factory by lake Mjesa.
We have a modern R&D lab equipped with temperature-controlled rooms, a CASA microscope for sperm evaluation and a production line for cryopreservation and storage in liquid nitrogen. Field work is an essential part of the development process and a lot of work is therefore carried out on-site in collaboration with research partners and customers.
Cryogenetics Worldwide
Cryogenetics wants to be located close to our customers. As a consequence of this, we have established specially designed cryopreservation laboratories located in following countries:
- Norway (serving European customers)
- Canada (serving North American customers on both the West and East coast)
- Chile (serving South American customers)
- USA (serving North American customers, mainly research insti-tutions working with zebrafish)
