Family-run cannery C. Oostrom's Conservenfabrieken B.V. (Coroos Canneries), founded by Cor Oostrom, has produced tinned fruit and vegetables since 1957. During the sixties fruit and vegetables were packaged exclusively in tins. Since 1982 we have also been using glass and a third packaging material, plastic, was added in 2003.

Production takes place in two modern locations: Geldermalsen and Kapelle, both of which are situated in the centre of the fruit and vegetable cultivation region of the Netherlands. Both factories produce a wide variety of tinned fruit and vegetables.

Distinctive features of the business are a successful balance between consumer supply and demand, and a high level of efficiency. This helps explain why Coroos Canneries is one of the largest private-label producers of Europe and has created a strong position for itself in the European retail food market.
