Cape Point Vineyards is an Award Winning Winery with a Wedding and Function Venue, located in Noordhoek - a mere 33km's from Cape Town. It is here in Noordhoek where the close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean provides cool breezes to nurture a terroir that is ideal for the cultivation of World Class Sauvignon Blanc wines.

The Cape Point Vineyards Restaurant, Picnic Site and Function Venue is located in a unique setting with 360 degree views of mountains, fynbos, vineyards, and glorious sunsets over the Atlantic ocean.

As the only wine estate to be positioned on the narrow Cape Peninsula, the confluence of sea breezes from the cold Atlantic Ocean (a mere 1.2 km from our south facing vines) and southeasterly breezes from False Bay create ideal conditions for the slow ripening of grapes required for the creation of premium wines.

"By keeping the vineyards cool, the winds promote a long, slow ripening period so that grapes can be picked at optimal ripeness. They also help to keep diseases at bay and when they're strong, they control vigour and do a second suckering for us," explains our winemaker Duncan Savage. The Cape Point vineyards are planted on two estates in Noordhoek and Scarborough, comprising a humble 20 hectares of vines. With not much room to expand, this relatively small space has allowed our winemaker Duncan Savage to focus on a few select cultivars, which he aims at mastering. "We are in a unique position to be able to concentrate on a small variety base which is well suited to our terroir; such as we have seen with Sauvignon and Semillon.
