Specialist in Biogas - BTS-BIO-CH4 - Biomethane

The BTS-Bio-CH4 is a technology for the biomethane production. The technology is based on chemical scrubber by amine. The plant has different modules.

Biogas cleaning module. It aims to separate alle the impurities from biogas before its entry into the CO2 removal process. At this stage removes undesirable compounds such as silozanes, moisture, particulates, halogenated hydrocarbons and NH3 that can poison the solvent used for scrubbing.

Module biogas upgrading. Is performed by chemical absorption. Biogas is washed with a suitable chemical solvent (alkanoamina) to remove of this stream up to 100% of CO2, as well as, possible traces of H2S that can bring into biogas. As a result of the process, is obtained a biogas stream with high level of CH4, similar at natural gas.

Solvent recovered. The regeneration of the solvent is made by distillation. In this way, is removed from the solvent the CO2 stream, captured from the biogas. The solvent is used in absorption operation again, while the CO2 can be useful for other uses (filling fire extinguishers, dry ice, seaweed farming, petrochemicals, etc.).

Drying and gas odor. Its purpose is to ensure a dry gas for its compression and storage. This operation involve cooling and drying adsorption. For the last operation, substances of high adsorption capacity are used.
