ALFA Upgrades is a startup company incorporated in Alberta, Canada developing upgrading solutions to improve performance of underground pipelines and prevents mechanical failures caused by natural forces.

Our technology improves safety and life span of pipelines buried in unstable soils in an economic and effective way. ALFA Upgrades has been working with Tech Edmonton, University of Alberta, Evergreen Learning and Innovation Centre and benefit from supports by AITF, IRAP and Mitacs.

ALFA Upgrades Inc. is developing a unique technology that minimizes the risk of pipeline rupture in areas susceptible to permanent ground movements caused by natural forces such as earthquakes, slope failures, downhill creeps, fault slips, etc.

This is an economic and high-performance solution that increases pipes capacity to endure large magnitudes of gradual or rapid displacement of any pattern (axial, lateral and vertical).

Our solution includes case specific engineering (study and design) and manufacturing and installation of novel hybrid buffering elements alongside the pipe.

Implementing this technology improves safety and reliability of underground pipelines in both new pipeline construction and existing pipeline upgrades.
